CrossRoads Church will not allow any form of sexual harassment, or any conduct that has the purpose or effect of interfering with a person’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.

This applies to every employee of CrossRoads Church, and to conduct that occurs at church facilities, at church events, or in the course of church work anywhere.

Sexual harassment, as defined in this policy, includes but is not limited to sexual advances, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, visual forms of a sexual or offensive nature such as signs, posters, material downloaded from the internet, or sexually explicit email, and requests for sexual favors.

Conduct covered by this policy, whether experienced or observed, should be reported immediately to your supervisor, who will then inform the Church Administrator.

You may report directly to the Church Administrator instead, and should do so if your supervisor is the subject of the report, if your supervisor is involved in it, or if for any reason you would rather not go through your supervisor. Nothing in this policy requires you to raise a concern first with the person it concerns.

If the report concerns the Church Administrator, report to the Senior Pastor. If it concerns the Senior Pastor, report to the Elder Board Chair, who will bring it to the Elder Board.

The Church Administrator will conduct an investigation and will be required to report the findings to the Senior Pastor or his appointed representative. Where the Church Administrator is the subject of the report, or is otherwise involved, the Senior Pastor will appoint someone who is not involved to conduct it.

The privacy of the employee filing the report and the employee under investigation will be respected at all times, consistent with the obligation to conduct a fair and thorough investigation.

No one will be penalised for making a report in good faith or for taking part in an investigation. Retaliation against a person who does either is itself a violation of this policy and is dealt with the same way.

Any intentional sexual harassment is a major violation of church policy and will be dealt with accordingly, by corrective counseling, suspension, or termination, depending on the severity of the violation.

Displaying sexually explicit images or text on church property is a violation of this policy. Employees may not view, download, archive, edit, or manipulate sexually explicit material from the internet using church resources. Any sexually explicit material sent by a fellow employee, or received from outside sources, should be reported under the reporting section above.

It is the intent of CrossRoads Church to provide a work environment free of sexual harassment in verbal, physical, and visual forms, and free of harassment, intimidation, or coercion in any form. All employees are expected to be sensitive to the individual rights of their co-workers.
